The Reading Property Meet is a friendly, independent property networking event which has grown from a handful of attendees to over 40 per month!

We meet on the last Thursday of every month at the Thames Lido. The atmosphere in the room is infectious! With renowned guest speakers, a pre-networking deal clinic with Adam and  lots of opportunity and time to network. You will get to meet fellow property professionals, with all levels of experience, who are only too happy to give you the benefit of their experiences – both good and bad!

The evening is hosted by Adam Vickers and Karen Stanbridge. They love networking and talking about property with both new and seasoned property people alike. Each month there will be guest speakers from the world of property and the professionals who work alongside them to offer people a chance to learn from their experiences.

April Guest Speaker

At April’s Reading Property Meet, Des Taylor will provide a clear and practical briefing on The Renters’ Rights Act: What Changes on 1st May, focusing on how the upcoming legislation is likely to affect landlords, investors, developers, and property operators in real terms.

He will break down what is genuinely changing, what is being widely misunderstood across the industry, and where compliance risks are most likely to arise as the new framework comes into effect.

This session is designed to move beyond headlines and speculation, helping attendees understand how regulatory change translates into day-to-day operational and commercial decisions across the property sector.

Session focus

  • Separating the facts from the noise surrounding the Renters’ Rights Act
  • What the changes mean in practical, day-to-day property operations
  • Areas where landlords and operators are most likely to get caught out
  • How enforcement and compliance may be approached in reality
  • Likely market responses as the changes take effect
  • Real scenarios showing how situations may unfold in practice

The session will be practical, grounded in real cases and industry experience, and participant led, with time for thoughtful questions and open discussion.
